Legendary actor Robert Duvall has died at the age of 95. He passed away peacefully at his home in Middleburg, Virginia, on Sunday. Following his death, his wife, Luciana Pedraza, released a heartfelt statement honoring his life and legacy. Born in San Diego on January 5, 1931, Duvall was the son of a career naval officer. He studied at Principia College, served in the Korean War, and later moved to New York to study acting under Sanford Meisner.

Early in his career, he shared an apartment with Dustin Hoffman and spent time with fellow aspiring actor Gene Hackman. Duvall began in theater before making his film debut in 1962’s To Kill a Mockingbird as Boo Radley. He went on to star in classics including The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, The Great Santini, and Tender Mercies.

His role as Tom Hagen in The Godfather earned him an Academy Award nomination, and he later won Best Actor for Tender Mercies. Throughout his career, he received multiple Oscar nominations and became widely regarded as one of Hollywood’s greatest actors.
